It started all with a BIG BANG...The Big Bang Theory!

So let me start off by saying I am so very sorry it has been a while since I have written. Life has taken some twists and turns for me lately, family issues, school issues and car issues. The good news though is that family issues will always be around, school issues have been worked out for now and the car issues have resulted in me trading in my truck that I had for 11 years, 150,000 miles and many great memories. I have gotten myself a brand new 2012 Nissan Versa Hatchback and she is red just like my truck, I even cried when I closed her door for the last time. Well enough of my sappy life let's move on.

The Big Bang Theory

The show is centered on five characters: roommates Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper, two physicists who work at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech); Penny, a blonde waitress and aspiring actress who lives across the hall; and Leonard and Sheldon's equally geeky and socially awkward friends and co-workers aerospace engineer Howard Wolowitz and astrophysicist Rajesh Koothrappali. The geekiness and intellect of the four guys is contrasted for comic effect with Penny's social skills and common sense. Three other supporting characters have also been promoted to starring roles: Leslie Winkle, a physicist colleague at Caltech and, at different times, a lover of both Leonard and Howard; Bernadette Rostenkowski, Howard's soon to be wife, who is a microbiologist and part-time waitress alongside Penny; and Amy Farrah Fowler, a neurobiologist who joins the group after being matched to Sheldon on a dating website.

The Cast of The Big Bang Theory

Leonard Hofstadter played by Johnny Galecki

Sheldon Cooper played by Jim Parsons

Penny played by Kaley Cuoco

Howard Wolowitz played by Simon Helberg

Rajesh Koothrappal played by Kunal Nayyar

Bernadette Rostenkowski played by Melissa Rauch

Amy Farrah Fowler played by Mayim Bialik

This show is beyond hilarious, I unfortunately only started watching it in the last year, but I have managed to catch reruns that air on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. The actors that were selected to play each character are amazing, they portray each one greatly. If you are one who likes to laugh then take a look at The Big Bang Theory, you are sure to find your own inner Sheldon Cooper. You can catch The Big Bang Theory Thursday night on CBS at 9:00 PM ET/PT and on TBS Tuesday night from 8:00 PM - 10:30 PM ET/PT, Wednesday nights at 10:00 PM and 10:30 PM ET/PT and Thursday nights at 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM ET/PT.

Hungry for more? How about we start Catching Fire?

So last night my little sister,Cassie, kept texting me asking me a million questions about the The Hunger Games trilogy, mind you she has only read the first one and of course like I told you all before is itching to get to the second one. I am telling you this series is that good, so anyways she goes on to inform me that she is in love with Peeta Mellark and will be marrying him but I have news for her I claimed that boy long before she did. Yea I know you're probably saying OMG Tarah aren't you two a little old to be thinking that!!?? It's a joke people, don't you ever read a book and become so engrossed with a story line and character you sit around and think and hope that they are walking the streets tirelessly looking for you?? No? Anyone? Ok well it looks like Cassie and I are the only nerdy desperate ones! HaHa! So a little while back I gave you the first of the three books to this trilogy The Hunger Games so now I will give you Catching Fire!

PS: For you Hunger Games tributes (this is what most fanatics are called) the movie comes out soon in fact as of right now it comes out in 44 day 10 hours and 14 minutes, eeeekkkk so can't wait!

Catching Fire: Book 2
By Suzanne Collins
After winning the 74th Hunger Games in the previous novel, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark return home to District 12, the poorest sector in the fictional country of Panem. On the day that Katniss and Peeta are to start a "Victory Tour" of the country, she is visited by President Snow. President Snow explains that he is angry with her for threatening to commit suicide with Peeta at the end of the last Hunger Games, which permitted them both to win. President Snow tells Katniss that when she defied the Capitol, she created talk of rebellion in the districts. He threatens to kill her family and friends if she cannot prove to everyone in Panem that her act was not one of defiance, but that she was instead driven by an intense love for Peeta.
The first stop on the Victory Tour is District 11, the home of Katniss' friend and ally in the Hunger Games, Rue, before she died. During the ceremony, Katniss delivers a quick speech to the people of District 11, thanking them for their tributes. When she is done, an old man whistles a tune that Rue used in the arena to tell Katniss that she was safe. The song acts as a signal and everyone salutes Katniss using the same gesture that she used to say farewell to Rue. Katniss is taken away, but not before she sees Peacekeepers shoot the whistling man in the head. Katniss and Peeta then proceed to travel to all of the twelve districts and the Capitol. During an interview, Peeta proposes to Katniss publicly, hoping to settle the dispute between Katniss and President Snow. Despite this, Katniss learns that their attempts of subduing rebellion in the districts have failed. Shortly after returning to District 12, Katniss encounters two runaways from District 8. They explain a theory that District 13 was not wiped out by the Capitol, due to its residents going underground, and that stock footage of  District 13 is played instead of new film on television. Later, it is announced that, for the 75th Hunger Games, 24 victors from previous years will be forced to compete once again. This is in honor of the "Quarter Quell": an event that occurs every 25th year of the Games and allows the Capitol to introduce a twist. Knowing that she and Peeta will both be competing in the Games a second time, Katniss decides that she will devote herself to protecting Peeta.
During the Games, Katniss and Peeta join up with two other previous victors, Finnick Odair: a 24-year-old man who successfully survived the Games at the age of 14 and Mags: Finnick's 80-year-old mentor, both from District 4. After Mags' death, Katniss, Peeta and Finnick join forces with Johanna Mason, a sarcastic and often cruel victor from District 7, and Beetee and Wiress, an older couple from District 3 who are said to be "exceptionally smart". Wiress soon proves her genius by revealing to Katniss that the arena is arranged like a clock, with all of the arena's disasters occurring on a timed chart. After Wiress is killed, Katniss learns of Beetee's plan to harness lightning in order to supposedly electrocute two other contenders. In the final chapters, Katniss directs the lightning at the force field that contains the arena, thereby destroying the arena and resulting in her temporary paralysis. When she wakes up, she is being transported to District 13: a place that is widely thought to no longer exist. She is joined by Finnick, Beetee, Gale and Haymitch but learns that Peeta, Johanna and Enobaria (a tribute from District 2) have been captured by the Capitol. Katniss is informed that there had been a plan between most of the contestants to break out of the arena and that Beetee had been attempting to destroy the force field in the same way that she did. The book ends with Katniss' best friend, Gale, informing her that, though he got her family out in time, District 12 has been bombed and destroyed.

Now I know the movie is only going to cover book one, but I had to include some pictures of the characters. Come on they just are so yummy and cute!!

Peeta Mellark played by Josh Hutcherson

Katniss Everdeen played by Jennifer Lawrence

Gale Hawthorne played by Liam Hemsworth

Cinna played by Lenny Kravitz and Haymitch Abernathy played by Woody Harrelson

Effie Trinket played by Elizabeth Banks

By time the movie comes out I promise you will know about book 3, so I urge you all to go read them. Go!! I swear to you I was swept off my feet by the story line and the whole series itself, I never once thought I would get caught up in a Sci-Fi novels.

Happy Reading!

Let's Talk...The Amazing Adele

So do you ever come across a new song that at that very moment talks about how you feel and the things going on in your life? Oh believe me I do, I find it very interesting that I only really find amazing new artists and songs when I am having a life changing, crucial and sometimes hurtful event in my life. At a time that I was completely run down, with feeling ugly, lonely (well because I have an asshole of an ex-husband) and lost I found Adele. This woman is beyond amazing oh and beautiful. I think I really connect with her because in her life she has faced a lot of the same hurdles I have; weight, love and life. If you have never heard of or heard her sing then this is my dare to you, listen and tell me straight out if not one of her songs speaks to and exclaims the same thoughts you have thought. If it turns out to be not the case for you then I will do a post that tells some of my dirty secrets! Haha maybe, I'll think of something. It is my duty to write about things I find interesting and feel all of you should know about, so I give you Adele. Beautiful, soulful, so full of life but yet still human like the rest of us.

Adele, is an English singer songwriter. She was offered a recording contract from XL Recordings after a friend posted her demos on Myspace in 2006. Her debut album, 19 was released in 2008 to much commercial and critical success in the UK. Her career in the US was boosted by a Saturday Night Live appearance in late 2008. Adele released her second album, 21 in early 2011. The album was well received critically and surpassed the success of her debut commercially. She is the first artist to sell more than 3 million copies of an album in a year in the UK. With her two albums and the first two singles from 21, "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You", Adele became the first living artist to achieve the feat of two top five hits in both the UK Official Singles Chart and the Official Albums Chart simultaneously since the Beatles in 1964. With her third release from the album, "Set Fire to the Rain", becoming her third number one single in the US, Adele became the first artist in history to lead the US album chart concurrently with three Billboard Hot 100 number ones. 21 is the longest running number one album by a female solo artist on the UK albums chart and is tied for the longest cumulative stay at number one by a female solo artist as well.

Now my honest opinion I don't think Adele has written and performed a song I haven't loved. In fact she has her own play list on my Ipod daily, there is just something about the sound and passion that comes from the words she sings. I have literally cried listening to her songs some days because at that very moment I felt the exact way as she does in the words. Simply adorable I don't know anyone who doesn't enjoy her. Take a listen, and like I said let me know what you think.

Let's Talk Fairytales...Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time in a far off place of Fort Worth, Texas there lived a beautiful poor girl named Tarah...

Ok you know what I can dream that a fairytale could actually be written about me, right?

So one on my favorite shows that I have decided to devote my Sunday nights too when I am not swamped with the weeks homework is ABC's Once Upon A Time. The show is about the all to familiar fairy tales we have all grown up with like Cinderella, Snow White, Red Riding Hood, and Pinocchio just to name a few.

On the wedding day of Snow White who played by the beautiful Ginnifer Goodwin and Prince Charming portrayed by the gorgeous Josh Dallas, the Evil Queen, (Lana Parrilla) arrives to deliver an ominous threat about a powerful curse she intends to release upon them. Some time later, a pregnant Snow White is worried about the curse and visits Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carylyle), who issues a prophecy that the Queen's curse will take them all someplace terrible where there will be no happy endings. He also reveals that Snow White's unborn daughter, Emma played by Jennifer Morrison, will return when she is 28 years old to rescue them, bringing on the final battle with the Queen. With the advice of the Blue Fairy, Geppetto and Pinocchio fashion a wardrobe from a magical tree which will allow one person to escape the Queen's curse. Prince Charming has all intentions for his wife for Snow White and their unborn daughter to use the magic tree to escape the curse, but Snow White goes into labor unexpectedly and gives birth to Emma just as the wardrobe is about to be completed. On the day Snow White gives birth to their daughter Emma, the Queen's curse strikes. Prince Charming places his daughter in the magic wardrobe, but is grievously wounded battling the Queen's henchmen. The Queen stands triumphantly over Snow White and Prince Charming as the curse takes them to "someplace horrible."

In present day Boston, Emma Swan lives a lonely life working as a bail bondsman and bounty hunter. On her 28th birthday, Emma is approached by a ten-year-old boy who identifies himself as her son, Henry portrayed by the adorable Jared Gilmore, whom Emma had given up for adoption as a baby. Not wanting a relationship with him, Emma agrees to drive him back to his home in Storybrooke, Maine. Along the way, Henry shows her a large book of fairy tales, insisting that all of the stories in it are real. When they arrive in Storybrooke, Henry informs her that everyone in town is in reality a fairy tale character, exiled by the curse and with no memory of their real identities. This includes his therapist, Dr. Archie Hopper, who is really Jiminy Cricket, and his teacher Mary Margaret Blanchard, who is actually Emma's mother, Snow White. He claims that time is frozen in Storybrooke, and the people are unable to leave, but that the curse will be broken by Emma since she is the daughter of Prince Charming and Snow White. A skeptical Emma returns Henry to his adoptive mother, the town's mayor who is really the Evil Queen. When Henry soon runs away again, Emma finds him and decides to stay in Storybrooke temporarily. This decision causes the hands of the town clock, previously frozen, to begin moving again.

Each week brings on a new characters story line and how they came about to be in the fairytale world. In previous episodes you learn about Snow White and Prince Charming's history, Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella even makes an appearance with her very own Prince Charming. I think one thing that has brought in so many viewers for this show is the whole concept that those we have so much desired to be actually can be normal day people. It is funny to walk around on the streets in your own neighborhood thinking, "Wow this lady next to be could really be Snow White!" Haha ok well not really but I seem to find it amusing to think while getting my cup of Starbucks every morning. I know for me and probably most of the population of women out there we have all wanted to live our own fairytale and with Once Upon A Time I kind of do. Even if your not the mushy lovey dovey kind of person this show still offers evil and revenge within its story line so the guys out there and even some stone hearted women can enjoy the show. So give it a try, but I do recommend you start at the beginning because with there being new stories every week a part of the show is a recurring story.

Let's Talk...what would be your fairytale?

Take a look...New Movie The Hunger Games

Ok so I know I wrote about the first book a little while back, but I wanted to share with you some good news! If you are a die hard fan like I am then you will be please to know that the trilogy The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is being made into a four part movie series. The first of the four movies hits theaters March 23, 2012 and is suppose to be the next new series sensation. Many are putting it up against Twilight and Harry Potter, I have some beef with this. Twilight is about vampires and werewolves, Harry Potter is about wizards and magic, I'm sorry but neither of these two compare to the Sci-Fi read of this trilogy how can they be put up against each other? Now I will be one to admit I have never been a Sci-Fi fanatic like I stated in a previous post but something about this series just reached out and held on to me. Here are some stills from the first installment for you to wet your eyes with, because come on, who isn't cuter to look at then Peeta Mellark played by Josh Hutcherson, Gale Hawthorne played by Liam Hemsworth and Katniss Everdeen played by the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence?

Now feast your eyes on the official movie trailer, I know I am probably crazy but when I love a book or series and it becomes a movie I just get giddy like a little school girl! I love to see creativity and imagination come together to produce great work. I can only hope to join in on the fun soon!

Take a Seat...Let's Talk...The Hunger Games

Ok since I really haven't had much time this week to catch up on shows I thought why not share the one thing I have done after homework and such. Read...in fact for the last 3 weeks I have done nothing but be addicted to this new series The Hunger Games. Yes I know it is a young adult series and I am what you call an old adult...ok well I like to believe 29 is not really that OLD! I will admit yes I love reading all kinds of books, but for some reason YA books grab my interest more than those made for older adults. Maybe it is due to the fact that I still like to dream and believe that fairy tales can come true.
I started this series after my sister Cassie and I discussed that a movie was coming out about it in March of 2012, I figured I would do the right thing this time unlike what I did with Harry Potter and read the books first. See when I read I like to start coming up with details for each person and in the end I end up pinpointing them to what actor or actress should play them if a movie was ever made. Now I started reading the first book and never once researched the movie on the Internet until I was into the second book, so that I wouldn't hinder my thoughts on what I believed each character looked like. I was pretty dang close I might say!
Since I am into the third book already I don't want to spoil a whole lot for everyone so I will just recap the first and maybe in a week or so come back for the second then the third, well once I finish that one.

The Hunger Games: Book 1
By Suzanne Collins

The story is being told from the point of view of sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen who lives in a post apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where the countries of North America once existed. This is where the government, working in a central city called the Capitol, holds power. In the book, the Hunger Games are an annual event where one boy and one girl aged 12 to 18 from each of the 12 districts surrounding the Capitol are selected to compete.
As punishment for a previous rebellion against the Capitol, every year, pulls names out of a lottery and forced to participate in the Hunger Games, a televised event in which the participants, or "tributes," must fight to the death in a dangerous, outdoor arena, controlled by the Capitol, until only one remains. Katniss, her mother and younger sister Primrose live in District 12. Her best friend is Gale Hawthorne, and she breaks the law with him regularly to go hunting in the woods surrounding their district, which is a forbidden act, yet they never get caught as because many important people buy their kills. She volunteers to be a tribute in the Games in order to save her sister, Primrose Everdeen, who was originally chosen..
Katniss and Peeta are taken to the Capitol, where their mentor, Haymitch Abernathy, a former Hunger Games victor, instructs them to learn about the other tributes. They are then publicly displayed to the Capitol audience. During this time, Peeta reveals on-air his long-time unrequited love for Katniss. Katniss believes this to be a ploy to gain audience support for the Games, which can be crucial for survival, as audience members are encouraged to send gifts like food, medicine, and tools to favored tributes during the Games. The Games begin and Katniss relies on her well-practiced hunting and outdoor skills to survive. As the games continue, the tribute death toll increases. Days later, Katniss develops a short alliance with a twelve year-old girl from District 11, Rue, who reminds Katniss of her sister Prim. When Rue is killed by another tribute, Katniss shoots him through the side of the neck with one of her arrows and comforts dying Rue. She sings to her, and then spreads flowers all over her body as a sign of disgust towards the Capitol.
Supposedly due to Katniss and Peeta's beloved image in the minds of the audience as "star-crossed lovers," a rule change is announced midway through the games, stating that two tributes from the same district can win the Hunger Games as a pair. Upon hearing this, Katniss searches for Peeta and finds him wounded. She nurses him back to health and acts the part of a young girl falling in love to gain more favor with the audience and, consequently, gifts from her sponsors. When the couple are finally the last two tributes, the Gamemakers suddenly reverse the rule change and try to force them into a dramatic finale, where one must kill the other to win. Katniss, in the hopes that the Gamemakers would rather have two victors than none, retrieves the poison berries called “nightlock” from her pouch and offers some to Peeta. Upon realising that Katniss and Peeta mean to commit suicide, the Gamemakers announce that both will be the victors of the 74th Hunger Games.
Though she survives the ordeal in the arena and is treated to a hero's welcome in the Capitol, Katniss is warned by Haymitch that she has now become a political target after defying her society's authoritarian leaders so publicly. Afterwards, Peeta is heartbroken to learn that their relationship was at least partially a calculated ploy to earn sympathy from the audience, although Katniss remains unsure of her own feelings.

Now let me tell you I have never been one to get hooked on any kind of Sci-Fi readings, I can however get into movies or television shows that are Sci-Fi based. Something within this series just captivates you and pulls you in, maybe it's the character Katniss or maybe it could even be Peeta. I don't know what it is about this story but I have not been able to put it down. In a week or so I will give you book two, and believe me if you decide to go for it and start the series you won't be disappointed, by the end of book one you are begging for more.

Happy Reading!
